About Our Services

EDL Helpdesk for Seniors is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing technology assistance to older adults. We offer:

  • Remote technology support (via Chrome Remote Desktop or similar tools)

  • Appointment-only in-person support at the Goodwood Library

  • General guidance on devices, software, email, online safety, and everyday technology use

Our services are intended for educational and assistance purposes only.

Eligibility & Appropriate Use

By using our services, you agree that:

  • You are seeking help for lawful, personal technology needs

  • You will not request assistance with illegal, harmful, or unethical activities

  • You understand that our volunteers and staff provide best-effort assistance and cannot guarantee resolution of all issues

We reserve the right to decline service if a request falls outside our mission or scope.

Remote Support Consent

If you choose remote support:

  • You grant permission for a support team member to temporarily view or control your device

  • You understand that remote access is optional and can be ended at any time

  • You acknowledge that EDL Helpdesk for Seniors is not responsible for pre-existing issues on your device

We will never access your device without your permission.

In-Person Support at Goodwood Library

In-person support is offered:

  • By appointment only

  • At designated library locations

  • For limited time slots per session

Clients are responsible for:

Bringing their own device

  • Backing up important data before appointments

  • Arriving on time for scheduled sessions

We cannot guarantee repairs or permanent fixes for hardware issues.

No Warranty or Guarantee

While we strive to provide accurate and helpful support:

  • We do not guarantee outcomes

  • We are not responsible for data loss, device damage, or third-party software issues

  • Technology changes frequently, and results may vary

Services are provided “as-is” and “as available.”

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:
